Donut Avenue
About This Spot
Walking into Donut Avenue, you’re met with the comforting hum of a small-town spot where the day moves at its own gentle rhythm. It’s the kind of place that invites you to pause, whether you’re grabbing a quick takeout or settling a moment over coffee and conversation. The modest but warm interior echoes with a blend of familiar scents—freshly fried doughnuts mingling effortlessly with the sizzling promise of Mexican spices and savory grill marks.
The atmosphere feels unpretentious and welcoming, a crossroads where classic American comfort food meets vibrant Mexican flavors, all under one modest roof. There’s a relaxed energy here—people stop by to fuel up on hearty breakfasts, unwind with a slice of pizza, or savor a burrito that’s been crafted with a hometown twist. It feels like a community kitchen for travelers and locals alike, a place where sweet treats and bold, satisfying meals live side by side without fuss or pretense.
Here, a morning might start with a maple bar or a handful of warm donut holes, paired with a cold glass of sweet tea that’s rare enough on this side of town to feel like a small luxury. Lunch customers might be found enjoying the lively mingling of melted cheese, smoky carne asada, or piled-high sandwiches that mirror the flavors of the neighborhood. And pizza, whether topped with olives and mushrooms or Hawaiian ham, rounds out the menu in a way that feels familiar and surprising at once.
You’ll notice the thoughtful touches—a complimentary donut with a combo meal, the steady rhythm of fresh pastries coming out of the oven, and a menu that’s as diverse as the people passing through the front door. It’s a local expression of Americana with a distinct Baja flair, a gathering place that quietly holds space for both journey and rest.
In a town where spots to eat can be few and far between, Donut Avenue stands as a steady beacon of ease and honest flavor. It’s not flashy or hurried, but it offers a genuine experience that resonates long after the last bite.

this place hits the spot. The donuts are fresh in the Mexican food is tasty if slightly salty. Nothing like a breakfast burrito and a maple bar together to start your day order at least convince you to have a nap before your day starts. The sign says it all: DONUT Mexican Food, in that order and emphasis

Update 4/21/21: been going to this place a lot lately seeing it’s the only place in town to eat. I now have to take off a star for the service. The younger women behind the counter are okay, but the older women seem to have a negative attitude. I love this place. They serve everything you want. I’m from Texas and they even serve sweet tea! When you buy a combo, it comes with a free doughnut! CON: They do have to step up their French fry game; they have no seasoning at all —not even salt.

We were on our way to the Salvation Mountain and was impressed by this little “tuck shop”..! We had one original glaze donut, cinnamon donut and beef taco, they all were delicious! Wonderful surprise in this little town.

Small Town vibes. Got the buffalo chicken fries and they did not disappoint!

Food is great. Pizza is good. Tacos are excellent. Fresh donuts every day and Mexican treats. Always stop when I'm in town.

Came to kill time while friend visits someone in the prison nearby and I'm glad I did California burrito was perfect in texture and taste got me full just halfway. Also had donut holes and they're pretty good just like ud find at another place. The drink sizes are large for my hands to fit so no complaints. Very clean also.

Stopped in while passing through town. The only iced coffee they serve has milk and possibly sugar. It's a unique offering. The burrito and donut were surprisingly good. Definitely worth a stop if in the area.
